In church this morning, the pastors sermon was about the Biblical concept of forgiveness. One of the supplemental texts he used to emphasize a point within his sermon was this text found in Genesis 4:23-24 (New King James Version listed below):
Then Lamech said to his wives:
“Adah and Zillah, hear my voice;
Wives of Lamech, listen to my speech!
For I have killed a man for wounding me,
Even a young man for hurting me.If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold,
Then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.”
Diane over at Crossroads (get well soon) sent me an e-mail linking me to this article by Brad Hightower that really sums up most Christian experiences today.
The Christian Post is reporting that The Gideons, known for their excellent Bible distribution methods to the school children (fifth grade and older), military chaplains for distribution to our solders, prisoners, and police / fire / medical / military personnel are celebrating 100 years of Bible distribution.
Bibles provided by the Gideons are still commonly seen today in hotels (look in the top drawer of the nightstand), hospitals, doctor’s offices, prisons, jails, domestic violence shelters, and nursing homes.

I came across this article over at pjmiller’s blog that talked about the ‘latest’ news concerning the Lakeland Revival / Todd Bentley fiasco with links over to Miriam’s blog.
I originally was going to write just a couple of paragraphs about my further thoughts hours after writing part one as a comment to the original article. However, the couple of paragraphs turned into another post altogether.
