Mario Murillo Highlights From 4-15-04

16 April 2004 13 Comments

Last night, I knew that Mario Murillo was going to be on TBN with Dwight Thompson. I did not care for Stephen Baldwin, Chaka Khan, and the eccentric Gary Busey. Therefore, I was flipping back and forth between the TBN and the two Stanley Cup Hockey games on both ESPN’s. Finally, around 11:30 PM EST, Mario finally came on the stage.

Mario comes out and mentions how he feels so undeserving and inadequate to be able to minister tonight on TBN. HE mentions that through television, he had the potential to reach more souls for Jesus in one setting than John Wesley reached in his entire lifetime. From there, Mario goes ino discussing the need to forget all the Christian fads and yearn for anointed teaching.

Mario proceeds to tell a story on how he was channel surfing one night and discovered Fox’s new TV show ‘The OC” about life in Orange County, California. During the show, Mario stated that he began to weep because he remembered another Orange County of 20-30 years ago with Chuck Smith, Melodyland, John Wimber, The Crouchs, the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship headquarters which became a TBN building, etc. Mario mentioned that how many years ago, revival flowed out of this area and souls were being saved but now in many areas has became the laughing stock of Christianity.

Mario then describes how one day, he walked outside his yard and saw the sprinkler head pop up and distribute water to his front yard. He proceeded to look down and noticed that all the grass in his yard was green and vibrant except the grass directly around the sprinkler head to which he referred to as the ‘Dead Grass Syndrome”. Mario then equated this to the current state of Christianity in Orange County, California where it was instrumental in spreading the Gospel throughout the world but Orange County is spiritually dead today while discussing current trends in Orange County, California.

Mario proceeded to discuss how this phenomeon slowly happened in a fourfold process of:

Man of God submitted to God -> God Moved on behalf of his people -> Man of God decided to market the method to make money and worship numbers and money over God -> God departed and the move is now a monument.

Mario then went to discuss many interesting concepts of:

Titles with no power and authority behind them

Church loves defeatism because it keeps the congregation dependent on it’s leaders and it focuses more on the permanent pursuit of healing the inner child instead of healing and going out to let God heal others.

Bashes Anthony Robbins Human Potential movement and church leaders who combine these philosophies of works instead of supernatural impartations, miracles, and deliverances.

Rebukes the “PABLUM-DRIVEN CHURCH” (his exact words) and the Seeker Sensitive church. He tells of conversations with the leader of this movement where they vehemetly disagree without mentioning his name. He compares this to Wal-Mart going into a town and setting up shop and closing down all the little mom-and-pop stores and the people who went to these stores now go to Wal-Mart. Most of these churches membership comes from small churches closing down and their members going to these churches and the growth is migrational instead of conversion by evangelism.

Calls the Seeker Sensitive model as a method that “Discounts the claims of Christ and lost power while relocating the lukewarm believer with commitment issues.”

Describes pablum as having two meanings of “simplistic writing, speech, or conceptualization” and “a bland soft cereal for infants” and explains how the church is spiritually malnourished.

Acts 2:46 – So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

We need quality not quantity, Conversion not relocation.

Mario then ends and him and Dwight Thompson prays for lost souls.

Though I do not intend this to sound as flattery, Mario is one of the few guesses that I look forward to seeing on TBN. It always saddens me when I hear those who have regular access to this great voice (TBN), at a time as this, would rather teach popular psycho-social messages instead of the authentic Word of GOD. I am fervently praying that there would be a day where christian media and local churches as well would be consumed with the heart and the voice of God. We need more leaders like Mario in the for-front.

Hi, Assoye, what is going on? There are remarks on the website about Mario Murillo, his ex-wife and Carman Licciardello being married to her. Are these facts or false statements?

Looking to hearing from you. Covered by Jesus’ blood, Lori,

Pray for Carman. He may well be a man after God’s own heart!

The truth is that Carman, dated Rose, for two years close to ten years ago. He would not marry her because she was not a virgin, which should have been quite obvious to Carman, as Rose had an older son. So I think it was a stupid excuse. Mario, met Rose, and married her. They got a divorce. Then Rose, married Carman. Now Carman and Rose are getting a divorce. By the way, I didn’t put an accurate e-mail because I don’t want to be threatened. But I swear on the bible, this is what I know to be true.

You know, TBN overall is quite superficial and worldly, and they brook no criticism. Carman was heavily promoted by TBN for a very long time, including using donors dollars to produce a movie with him as star – one of the stupidest things I ever saw, so your comments don’t entirely surprise me, because Carman always seemed torn between the things of the world and the Lord’s work. Personally, I never “bought” his act. The advantage of age on my part, probably.

Frankly Murillo has a lot to offer that he doesn’t seem to be personally aware of yet, but will not realize the potential the Lord has placed in him until he “divorces” TBN. The Lord uses flawed vessels, but judges unrepentant vessels (meaning the TBN organization). In many areas, TBN is unrepentant, not to mention clueless.

I’m glad truth teller posted his explanation because it answers a lot of questions. M. Murillo made veiled references in our city 11 years ago about experiencing a “betrayal” of himself that was so bad that he felt like leaving the ministry altogether. My understanding was that Carman and M. Murillo were friends at one time. The more rubbish that comes out of the TBN organization and those they try to turn into stars, the more I wish that network would go away. Our local Christian station does a much better job and hold themselves to very high standards – it’s not that hard to do.

So Truth believer, what makes you think that Truth teller was a man? I got the impression it was a woman with a personal bone to pick. And all the facts were not straight, some of it was skewed and misleading. But I will avoid getting into personal details here.

Carman has not claimed to be a perfect person, and has openly admitted to much of what he’s gone through during the years. TBN is flawed, yes, and so are all our local churches and any ministry that is worth it’s salt due to spiritual warfare.

Do I agree with all at TBN? No, but just like my own church which is quite different, I will not throw out the baby (church) with the bath water (sins of the church). With TBN I see their strong points as having wholesome entertainment, and excellent praise and worship music. When it comes to doctrinal issues, I listen to my own church.

Many years ago, I was in the secular limelight, and was told at one of my concerts about Carman. At first I asked who she was, as I did not follow the Gospel world of music, and it was through these kids, that I contacted the ministry.
I had been up for the Emmys in 1991, and was just about to do a European tour, with a 25-piece band.
When I phoned his main office, and was then informed of his show in Portland Oregon, and as I lived in Vancouver, BC. This was a drive away, so I said that I would go.
This was a long time ago, and after that show, I sent a ten page letter along with many more, where I saw the future, to what I had seen and what would happen, if changes were not made.
I was at first as an artist myself mad, and saddened by the lack of salvation at this outdoor concert, to how things could have been changed, and made better, to how it could be done.
I sent this ten page letter of prophecy along with many more to the ministry, Then I received a reply which asked for all of my information, to be sent immediately, with my bio, Emmy awards pictures ect…or as soon as possible, do to Carman wanting to see them, before he flew off to do his concert up our way.
So we sent it over night, and after he looked it over, He then left for his concert, up my way closer to home.
I had given my heart back to God, and was serving him, when I then went to his concert in Ferndale, Washington.
There my Mother and I were put to work, in converting the BC money to the US LOL! That was fun, and it was there that we met once again, but this time I was allowed to go back stage to meet him.
I as an artist myself never have put any one up on a pedestal, to even wanting any autographs, and to me this was no different. Carman was a handsome man, but I had dated many of those before.
What made Carman likeable to me was that he loved God, but I still wasn’t nor ever have been a groupie, nor would I ever chase after a man.
I would have loved to sing with him though, again that’s the singer in me, who loves to harmonize.
I love the anointing of music, and not the flesh of man. But it was the anointing of his gifts through music that moved me.
I then made some three dimension pictures, as I paint, sew, knit, to doing voice overs for TV and commercials, to as of even right now, I have written over 54 books, with one in a major producers hands in Hollywood, but I had just read on the other blog about a woman who wrote the ministry, and told it like it was.
So I just wanted to clarify, that I had done this a very long time ago, and as I read on the other blog, about a woman who had many gifts, to the prophesy, I still will not enlighten on exactly what I said, as it was a very long time ago.
I now though am apart of the church, and still always in prayer for the ministry. This is also why I am hurt when I see so many hurtful words being spoken. If Carman was married, to if he is now divorced, to how he has misled all of the fans.
He is a mortal man, and just like David who danced violently before the Lord, to how God even said that he was a man after his own heart, to how God forgave him even when David had another man killed in battle, so that he could marry that man’s wife. Did God crush him, and drag his garbage can out for the world to gloat? Or did he lift him back up to still lead those who would follow into victory?
Yes God is still merciful, but it is in our own camp of sheep that the enemy seeks, like a fox to destroy.
Let your hearts be troubled, nor be swayed this way and that, but follow after Gods ways, for his ways are not ours, and lean not on your own understanding, but fully trust in God.
Forgive those who hurt you, or despitefully use you, lift up the broken hearted be it Rose, to Carman, but do not judge lest you be judged.
Many shall fall by the way side, but if we all stand strong together, for there is strength in numbers, and divided we would all fall.
Take no sides, but Gods side, and cast no alms either his or her way, to even the very ministry itself, for they are in a battle everyday, surrounded by darts, and daggers, to words filled full of death.
So restore with words filled full of life once again.
Glorify God and lift up his name, and not that of the flesh. Cast no spears to the lady who has done her very best by Carman in his ministry, regardless if you like her ways or not.
Do not state that she serves the Devil, to the whore’s church, for you are to touch not Gods anointed. There is a danger in condemning a church filled full of people who really care about each other.
No one is perfect, for we each are human, and so is Carman. Vada does support her husband, and her dear husband who is a wonderful shepherd. Yes the times have been hard pressed, but we will exhort one another and lift each other up.
Please put Carman’s lid back on his back yard garbage can, and start mending the wounds. His life is before God, as all of ours is, and if I am that long ago veiled woman, that you speak of, who wrote those letters of prophecy.
Then here I am out in the open, and I say that God will restore, restore, and restore what that canker worm has eaten.
Support the ministry, and not the flesh, for to ere is human, but to gossip is to speak death, and not life to the wounded soul, and weary bones.
Lift up Rose, Carman, Vada, and all else who have been trampled on, and bring out the true gifts of love, that Jesus did, when he gave his very own life on Calvary.

    All the best

Be Glorified, Be Glorified, Be Glorified, Be Glorified, Be Glorified, in the Heavens, Be Glorified in the earth.
Sing Gods praises everyone, and lift up Gods holy name, and let his praises ever more be on the tips of your tongues with words filled full of life.
We thank you Jesus, through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God.
I keep trying to post this, but it keeps on getting lost, so I am now trying to send it in again. All the best everyone.
