Almost all music was sacred NOT secular until Monteverdi&#039;s opera in the early 1600&#039;s, &quot;Orpheo.&quot;  And, not until the 1800&#039;s did secular music overtake sacred music in quantity.

I disagree with you on rock.  It is very destructive IMO.

However, your point about C&amp;W is well taken.
