Andrew Careaga has written an article entitled ‘The New Evangelicals’ linking to a San Francisco Gate article where the National Association of Evangelicals are circulating a draft of a groundbreaking framework for political action that strongly endorses social and economic justice and warns against close alignment with any political party. I tried my best to access the link to the Christianity Today’s article about the same thing but I could never access their article.
It’s about time. I wish that the National Religious Broadcasters would follow suit instead of Dobson, Wildmon, Robertson, and others forcing Glenn Plummer to resign years ago when he proposed the same thing and asked that the NRB members go back to religious programming.
I absolutely agree with you Bob except we need to now not go to the other extreme like the liberals at the turn of the twentieth century did. They helped the poor but at the expense of not preaching the gospel. And, sadly, I see the “New Evangelicals” going in the same direction.
