Q: Is My Milk “Offensive” And “Insensitive”?
A: Why are you asking this question?
Because I have been reading in various news sources about the famous “9011″ toy where the jet plane is between two twin skyscrapers and the public outrage that has come forth.
Q:What did that last statement have to do with your milk?
A: I got home from the grocery store early Sunday morning and noticed that the freshness expiration date on the label of my milk is listed as “SEPT-11″with “04″ in smaller fonts. Gee, are we going to start complaining that having an expiration date of “SEPT-11″ on perishable goods such as milk and dairy products is considered to be “offensive” and “insensitive” to the families affected by 9-11-01?
I hope not, If we start this, we are surely in trouble. Meanwhile, I will enjoy my milk and cereal at breakfast.
Al,
With all due respect, I don’t see how your milk analogy ties into the toy…
The toy was most certainly offensive and insensitive…
The milk, around this time of the year, would make sense to have an expiration date of 9-11…
Help us out here and explain the tie-in…
:)
Well, I figured that we would see some extremist, nutjob group come out of the woodwork and try to force people to not use 9-11 on anything relevant again. That’s all.
After 9-11-01, there were extreme nutjob groups that contacted the congressmen to sponsor bills that would change the “911″ emergency response number to something else thinking that the 911 number for emergencies was now insensitive in light of what happened on 9-11-01.
I see…
Although I hadn’t heard of your example and neither have I yet come across any more that would be classified as similar in nature…
… but maybe I’m simply missing out…
God’s peace to you buddy, hope things are well your way…
