Onward, Forward, Toward…

Driving on the way to work this morning, I began to think about the differences between my generation and today’s high-school / college aged people and one thought stuck with me throughout the day:

Should I Skip Church All This Month and the first weekend in November? I have really been asking myself this question lately as I wonder if the message preached from the pulpit (and many others across America) will turn from a sermon from the Bible for everyday living to a sermon purposely worded by legal eagles of the Christian Coalition to indirectly endorse a political candidate in order to keep the 501c3 status? I want to hear a sermon from God that deals and relates to everyday life and how …

It’s Time for:

Our pastors to quit being politicians.
Our prophets to quit being psychologists
Our evangelists to quit being physicians
Our apostles to quit being CEO’s
Our teachers to quit being patriarchs

How can this be done, by re-learning to preach the full Gospel to the whole world.

Diane over at Crossroads referred me to a series of blog posts by Mark D. Roberts entitled The Church and Politics in America that has been very interesting reading as of late.
