Have you ever seen a praise and worship leader repeat the same lines of a worship song over and over again (I saw a worship leader repeat one line of a worship song eighteen times once) in order to ‘get a spiritual reaction’ for people to feel some holy spirit goose bumps, shout, run around, and / or dance? Is this ‘repetition’ done frequently in many worship circles really a form of “christianized mantra“? Is this repetitious chanting really a clear violation of Matthew 6:7-8 where it is stated:
7And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8″Therefore do not be like them….
