The Christian Athletes Creed

26 September 2004 One Comment

Rule #1: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will thank God when we win the championship.

Rule #2: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will not thank God nor mention his name if we lose the game or do not make the championship. In fact, we will say nothing and claim that we were disappointed in ourselves.

Rule #3: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will try to get on the cover of Sports Illustrated and Sports Spectrum at the same time.

Rule #4: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will still wear our WWJD bracelets even though they went out of style many years ago.

Rule #5: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will start a Christian non-profit organization as a tax shelter for our bonus monies to make us the CEO and pay ourselves in the name of ‘gratis’.

Rule #6: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will burn out and fade away after the miracle season and will be forgotten again until our next visit on the 700 Club.

Rule #7: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will write one book about our testimony before we set up ourselves for catastrophic personal moral failure.

Rule #8: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will pick a small church and make that pastor famous.

Rule #9: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will also write a devotional book where sin is equated to a technical foul, a fifteen yard penality, three minutes in the penality box, or ejectment from the game.

Rule #10: We the Christian Athletes confirm that we will do a segment on the 700 Club and that the 700 Club is a trademark of CBN and the baseball writers who used this phraze to describe the 700 homerun accomplishments of Aaron, Ruth, and Bonds are violating copyright and trademark laws.

Rule #11: We the Christian Athletes of Football confirm that we will do a 30 minute testimony video and release it to churches to where the church will play this video at halftime instead of the halftime show at the mens fellowship annual Super Bowl Super Evangelism Party.

Rule #12: We the Christian Athletes of Football confirm that we will gather Christians from both teams and meet at the 50 yard line after the game and pray.
