Should I Skip Church…
Should I Skip Church All This Month and the first weekend in November? I have really been asking myself this question lately as I wonder if the message preached from the pulpit (and many others across America) will turn from a sermon from the Bible for everyday living to a sermon purposely worded by legal eagles of the Christian Coalition to indirectly endorse a political candidate in order to keep the 501c3 status? I want to hear a sermon from God that deals and relates to everyday life and how to apply the Word of God to my Christian walk. If I want to hear, see, and discuss politics, various news sources online can help me with this issue. I (and probably many others across America) am afraid that since this is an election year, I (and probably many others across America) will not be able to hear a spiritual sermon for the next six Sundays until November 14, 2004 when the election year will be over and we begin to embrace the holiday season.

Actually, you don’t need to go to church to hear that stuff from Christians. As you pointed out to me….just read most Christian blogs…LOL
First, thank you for adding me to your blogroll list. I think you may be the first to add me, since my United Unchurchables blog is only a few weeks old and I’ve done very little to promote it. Just an announcement on Messy Christian’s blog.
I agree, as you probably suspected, with your apolitical stance.
JESUS WAS NOT POLITICAL.
I think when He said give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, Jesus was making fun of politicians, Caesar’s face was on the coin, so it must be his coin. This was a good joke, but patriots today say it means give your life for your country and other hogwash.
What good sermons do we ever get in church anyway, regardless of election time? If someone looks to church sermons for spiritual nourishment, once a week spoonfed doctrine, I greatly pity their soul.
I found a book of Luther’s writing today for 50 cents at local Goodwill, and a new FUBU denim jacket for $10. Praise God for His wonderful mercies to me and to all who exalt the name of Jesus Christ.
I’m going to add this blog to my UNITED UNCHURCHABLES blog list.
I found this reference to my site by doing a Technorati check. Ya dig?
