Being at work all day, I have not been able to follow the baseball hearings in Congress until I got home around 4 PM EST. I have had to go to this page and get the rundown along with watching clips on other cable channels.

Continuing with my slow read of the book ‘Total Truth’ by Nancy Pearcey, I came across the section entitled “Buddhist in the Sky” where the author recalls meeting a Buddhist woman on an airplane ride. Pearcey discusses how the Buddhism preached by the very devout is vastly different from the Buddhism practiced by the trendy Hollywood celebrities. The concept of reincarnation was used describing how the trendy Hollywood celebrities view the concept as ‘evolutionary progress’ while the devout Buddhist views reincarnation as the ‘wheel of suffering’. I guess after Ashley Smith revealed to the world in an interview on WSB Radio in Atlanta that she read portions of The Purpose Driven Life to Brian Nichols (the suspect in Atlanta’s courthouse slayings) while being held hostage that this will be the next installment of the PDL series. I hope God gets the glory for saving further tragedy from happening instead of Rick Warren.

I was reading a little bit of the book “Total Truth” by Nancy Pearcey when I came across the section in Chapter Four entitled “Mystique of The Forbidden” (page 125-126 hardback) where the author does an excellent job in communicating that Christian parents, pastors, and youth leaders should eliminate the ‘mystique’ of all the ‘isms and prepare their children for an apologetic defense that Christianity can hold up in thorough debate against all the ‘isms’.

I was finally able to listen to part two of the White Horse Inn’s discussion about The Emergent Church. This continuation summed up the ‘hodge podge potluck supper’ mentality of a pick and choose church movement. Also on this page, there is (for a limited time) a mp3 download where the White Horse Inn interviewed Brian McLaren, author of A Generous Orthodoxy and considered to be the forerunner leader of the Emerging Church.
