“Hot Rod” Influenced The 2004 Election?

26 April 2005 No Comment

According to a e-mail I received from the MinistriesToday Update for Tuesday, April 26, 2005 as being a subscriber to their e-mail list, it states:

Breaking the Silence

In the May/June issue of Ministries Today, we sit down with Ohio pastor Rod Parsley, a man who may have changed the outcome of the 2004 election with his “Silent No More” tour of battleground states. Discussing the impetus behind his new book (Silent No More [Charisma House]), Parsley says, “If folks are going to read this book and think they’re just going to hear another rant about abortion or other typically right-wing issues, they don’t know me.” The fiery preacher also addresses the topics of racism, poverty and fair wages-and why pastors like him should have the right to endorse political candidates from the pulpit.

If the government decides to let churches endorse political candidates and become ‘theopolitical’, God help us. That will be the day that the church turns from being a church into being Congress and maybe the God they claim they will let back into America may decide to eventually leave it for a body of believers that care more about the Great Commission than the Great Congression.
