I received an e-mail from a friend of mine who forwarded me an e-mail from a friend of theirs who had read my article on Which Church Will You Flee To Next? and left an interesting comment of:

….This has been the experience of several friends…having to go to church to church to church to avoid the trappings of PDL, lack of Bible teaching or whatever. It may look like “church hopping”, but it’s actually “church searching”

Very valid point and a very interesting monkey wrench to throw into the statistics of reasons why people leave churches to find another church. It’s not that people are “church hopping” by habit, but instead are in reality “church searching” for the next safe church they hope and pray will not fall into deception or victim to the latest Christian megatrend of the day.
