The Turning Around

In my church bulletin last Sunday, there was an announcement made of critical importance.

‘The Session’ announced to ‘the church’ that they had in their last monthly meeting made an offer to a pastor to come and serve as the intern pastor and that this pastor has accepted the call to be ‘the intern pastor’ starting in November.

After his name was mentioned, I (after catching up on days of blog post management and e-mail after being out of town on business) went to our Presbytery web page and found his name and current church listed from where he served on a committee within the Presbytery. I therefore googled the church he currently is serving at and found their web page and his profile page. He is an man that appears to be in his late fifties / early sixties and has a very long career as a pastor within the denomination, an officer within the denomination, and serving on numerous committees within the Presbytery. He had retired in the early nineties but came back some time ago on a part-time basis serving as an assistant in the area of pastorial care in the area of local evangelistic outreach, visitation, bereavement counseling, sick/shut-in ministry, etc.
