Thank You Shawn Michaels

15 November 2005 2 Comments

After hearing of the death of professional wrestler Eddie Guerrero and the WWE doing a Eddie Guerrero tribute show, A friend and I watched RAW is WAR last night. Throughout the show there were special segments where individual wrestlers talked for a couple of minutes about Eddie’s impact on their life.

The most impressive and bold segment was the Shawn Michaels segment paying tribute to Guerrero. In this segment, Michaels mentioned that he never wrestled Guerrero, but they had long talks and discussions about their faith in Jesus Christ (he used those words) and to encourage each other in their Christian walk. Michaels then proceeded to tell that Eddie was now in heaven in front of Jesus Christ and one day Michaels would reunite with Guerrero.

Thank You Shawn for your boldness.

Amen to that. I’m still in shock over how sudden Eddie passed, but I am thankful to know he is in a better place.

I am not a wrestling fan but I saw the opening of this special. I was impressed. God is moving even in wrestling and has obviously been for some time. I thank the Lord. And I thank the wrestlers who profess their Saviour Jesus Christ. I will mention that a good friend of mine who follows wrestling (wants to be a wrestler even) ways that professional wrestling has the biggest following of any sport.
