Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code. Coming home from work today, there was a traffic jam on the street corner where the local ‘megaplex’ movie theater is. Why? People were ‘rubbernecking’ from their slow cars as protestors on the street corner held up signs urging people to not see the movie.
To me, The Da Vinci Code is like every other mega boycot fad that has ever existed. The boycotts made the thing boycotted more popular and the additional publicity caused the boycotted thing to make more money than it ever would have if it was just ignored.
