Goodbye Enemies (I Meant Theologians)

8 September 2006 2 Comments

It looks like the Chief Apostle of the “Colorado Springs Craziness” has now made a proposal to eliminate the theologian.

If you read the article, you can see clearly that what Wagner is clearly trying to do is to secretly ‘eliminate’ the people who stand up against the New Apostolic Reformation to where the agenda of the N.A.R. can be fulfilled unchallenged. Another worthwile read in this article are the comments of one commenter by the name of Doug Wilson who tells it like it really is.

Sounds like the same covert methods the purpose-driven people use…..

To paraphrase Ric Flair, Doug ‘took them to school,’ and enjoyed it! But jesting aside, it does sound like Wagner has been taking lessons from the PD crowd, unfortunately.

Doug does mention something that bothers me about the modern Charismatic/Pentecostal side of Christianity…anti-intellectualism, the idea that the Holy Spirit takes us to new experiences, and that there’s no need to get ‘deep’ in theology or thought. There’s nothing in the Bible that contradicts taking the time to reason through our faith, nor is there anything that says that we should merely run after experiences. Been there, done that…and frankly, I have the emotional scars to prove it.

The Bible encourages us to worship in ‘Spirit and in Truth.’ They go hand in hand, not separately.

Thanks for your post and most importantly an Amen to the statements in the last paragraph.

What we need to do is to say goodbye to Wagner, Pierce, Jacobs, Sheets, and Haggard and good riddance to the New Apostolic Movement.
