Those hippies didn’t bring America under judgment, the church did. How easy it is to pass the buck. Leonard Ravenhill used to always say, “As the church goes, so goes the world.” When we became impotent and desired passivity and nice living above the holiness that used to mark us, we became worthless as a witness.

I really don’t think that God holds the world as responsible as He does the church. Keith Green said, “This generation of christians is responsible for this generation of souls.” Those who know God’s will and don’t do it will be beaten with many blows. The world, though sinful, will be beaten with few blows IMO. But I believe it’s a biblically informed one.

In fact, how dare Lou Engle imply that it’s the worlds fault that America is under judgment? Who are the Royal Priests that are supposed to teach (and demonstrate!) the difference between the holy and the profane? Who is the salt, i.e. rot fighting agent, preservative and wound healer? Who is the light? If the light within America is darkness from a weak and dead church, then how great is the darkness in the church?!!?

Now I’m mad. That’s not good.

I agree with you that this is priming if not already getting christians to embrace diviniation, and gnosticism. They (Bickle,Engle, etc.) have the inside scoop and we the viewing audience just have to get onboard.
It’s the same week after week-always someone with a new revelation and if you just follow the formula…
Don’t question it -these are men of God. I would imagine a diviner would be quite at home watching TBN. Replacing the sovereign will of God to
a formula of numbers-Ha! I liked when Mike Bickle said the intercessors are releasing the annointing and authority of the Holy Spirit. Yep we are just so great and important and God is so dependant in us his church!
Havent they ever read the book of Job?

Job is one interesting book. Job really answers questions about sovereignity. Job in and of itself would really debunk much of the Word-Faith theology. The reason why you never see Word-Faith or Third Wavers / Charismatics discuss it because the more that they would study it, the more they would realize that they would be more like Job’s buddies than Job.

So far, every year I was involved in this movement, there has been at least one day every year that the numbers line up in some way to provoke thought that something special might happen on that day since that date only happens every 100 years. (In the grand scheme of things, thats actually pretty often– about 600-1,000 times since the creation of the universe– and now that I think of it, why are they using the Gregorian calendar for this and not a Hebrew calendar— probably BECAUSE IT WOULDNT MATCH THEIR PREDICTION!)

My husband and I were married on 08/08/98 (we werent involved in this junk then so it was just the date we looked at on a calendar and said “How about that day?”).

Once in this movement, we were told that was ‘SOOOOO prophetic’ by many (nobody ever told us why though LOL). Later on, it was suggested we renew our vows on out 10th anneversary, which would be 08/08/08– it would be 3 times the ‘new beginnings’ (in ‘biblical’ numerology).

Anyway, as I said before, they always have to stick their silly conks in where there might be coincidental potential for something special. Usually absolutely nothing happens anywhere close to what they predicted. Then the super-duper-dont-you-wish-you-were-as-spiritual-as-us people have to tell us what happened *And how come you didnt see it?? How come you didnt believe it would happen?You hindered God’s power on that day from being monumental to being miniscule….etc*

Im sure next year, on 08/08/08, there will be a prediction for the world about ‘new beginnings’… Or something ‘huge’ in the spiritual realm…

worse is when they see that nothing happened and try to explain it away as not happening because someone had secret sin, didn’t pray long and hard enough, didn’t give enough money, or disagreed with the organizers (equated as disagreeing with God) and held the whole thing back. Someone has God hostage somewhere…

It has happened;….. in the spirit. You’re too busy looking at the flesh to not be spiritual enough to see what is going on in the spirit.

Well looks like an ordinary day in Israel on our 07/07/07– because its 04/21/5767 for them. Im sure that could be easily read into by them by it being the 21st day of Tamuz– 7×3 (07+07+07) is 21… Ok… I better just kick this and keep walking LOL!

I was also thinking about ‘coincidental conspired potential’ where they conspire to find all the numerology and work it backwards to make sure everything ‘lined up’

I have seen people I know go as far as to add up the letters in names and/or which placement they have in the alphabet and assign numerical value that way.

Basically it comes down to this: if you want it to add up, there are an infinate amount of ways to extrapolate whatever you want from anything to get the desired results.

For ALL have sinned and…you know the rest. The hippies and Engle, me and you. We could go into who sinned worse. Which one is the abomination and which one is the little sin, but isn’t that for Him to decide and not us? Judging others specific sins really pushes the sinner away from God. I don’t believe God wants us to preach His word in that manner. Our God is a loving god and we must leave the judgement to Him. Point one finger and four are pointing right back at you. Yes, numerology is fascinating and there are endless formulas that can be created to predict any given prophecy. My father reminded me of the scripture that says how God will return 50 years after Israel becomes a nation. That would’ve been in 1998, right? Well, he’s still here and so are you and I. There are many other examples that can be pointed out and knowing my brothers and sisters, if this gets posted you’ll see ‘em all! Maybe numbers don’t mean exactly the same thing to God as they do to you and I. It also says in scripture that a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day to the Lord. That being said, what are we to believe? Just trust Him. Have faith. For we know not the day of the coming of the Lord.

It’s SO easy to sit back & discredit the works of God. Can not ONE of you see that no matter what the date, any inspired and heart-felt prayer will be answered? Besides, 7 IS the number of completion for God. How can anyone say that God will just ignore thousands across the globe who choose to fast & pray for 40 days, and gather for corporate prayer to bring salvation for thousands??? My husband told me many things God said He would do on 7/7/07, months before we heard anything about Lou Engle. That is confirmation that God IS wanting to change our world. It takes US to fast & pray to bring that about, at ANY time! God’s listing of numbers in the Bible cannot be compared to “divination & numerology.” They are considered an abomination to God.

The fact that they called for a 40 day fast that happened to just end on 7-7-07 sounds like it was ‘reverse engineered’ from the start (the start point being 7-7-07) and worked backwards to make sure all the numbers, formulas, facts, etc. worked out to appear ’spiritual’. If anything, those guys smear God and think that because they can align up certain things and try to justify it, or re-create something exactly as in the Bible to try to justify it as ‘of God’.

In reference to the captcha, The seven randomally selected letters/numbers nor the fact that seven letters/numbers are displayed is not selected by me. That is an additional hardcoded plugin to the blog to stop spammers and that is their standard configuration because the more number/letter combinations, the chances of being spammed by spambots that can easily crack four and five digit random numbers drastically decreases.

I have had to moderate comments because I have had expletives. I have had ads for porn that circumvented the spam filters. I have had ads for get-rich-quick/MLM/pyramid schemes. I have had the Nigerian 419 scams posted as comments. I have had comments that had a link to a webpage to click on it and get forwarded to gambling sites that download spyware, viruses, and international phone number dialers behind the scenes. I’ve also had ads for the pakistanian pharmacies and also the ‘ male enhancement pills’.

I’ve had people who thought they could curse me by disguising it with such phrazes as “you’re an (expletive) in the Spirit” or “you’re a spiritual (expletive)”. I’ve had people who thought they could try to pull the ‘prophetic death threats’ tactic and then tried to send them to some other people who comment frequently at the blog.

Who is going to prophecy about 8-8-08, 9-9-09, 10-10-10, 11-11-11, and 12-12-12? Just because there will be a 7-7-07 this year does not mean that God has to be force-fitted to do something to make the ’spiritual numerology’ work. That’s trying to manipulate God to fit into a man-made formula instead of people conforming to God. That’s putting God in a box attempting to limit him to only being able to do things a certain way, a certain date.
