Onward, Forward, Toward…

I just finished reading some of these ‘great in 2008 prophecies’ (they simply replaced 1998 with 2008) on some of these prophecy web pages and after shaking my head at the vast majority of them. A very and intriguing thought came to my head…

We will see the spiritual warfare teachings come back into style in 2008

Why?

I think it’s due to the fact that:

(1): The church is getting tired of the ‘prosperity doctrine’ and seeing the fleecing of the flock

(2): The prosperity doctrine will come under microscopic scrutiny not from the church, but from the US Government via the Grassley investigation.

(3): The prosperity doctrine teachers now know that the government is probably going to start watching their shows and Internet sites more closely than ever. Therefore, to stay ‘one step ahead’, they will quit talking about health, wealth, and prosperity and focus on something else that generates cash flow. Spiritual warfare.

This, combined with the fact that this is an election year in the US, will cause a shifting of what is portrayed in American televanglism where spiritual warfare will be emphasized again in reference to the election to the point of if “God’s Official Party” wins, they spiritual warfare people will ‘take credit’ for the victory.

Both the prosperity gospel and the spiritual warfare gospel have so much in common due to the fact that there are a lot of wrong and bizarre teachings that come out of their respective movements that is considered as being ‘right’ and ‘mainstream’ in televangelism. However, they will be deeply tied together indirectly and covertly by the televangelists via the following tactic:

Instead of being asked directly to send money to gain your prosperity, “money cometh end-times wealth transfer” and ‘hundredfold’ message, the viewer will be asked to purchase these teaching tapes on spiritual warfare to fight against principalities in the home, the church, and of course government (gotta beat the DEMONcrats). However, you will see a new twist added to the spiritual warfare teachings where it will be taught that there are many who will be able to see their prosperity and ‘hundredfold’ blessings only when they start doing spiritual warfare and (here’s the kicker) the only correct way to do proper spiritual warfare is to purchase their expensive teaching tapes.

You see, in this ‘one thing blocking us’ mentality that permeates Christianity today, spiritual warfare can be very easily adapted into this mindset because instead of the secret sin, lacking faith, disagreeing with a televangelist, voting democrat, not praying hard enough, not reading the bible long enough, and not sending them money excuses used to explain why you are not rich, powerful, healthy, wise, affluent, influent, and ‘mega-anointed’, the term ‘mega-demon’ and ‘enemy of GOd (someone who disagrees with you) can become a new excuse and the new ‘one thing blocking us’ mentality that can send Christians on a Don Quixote windmill chase searching for a war to fight believing that the prosperity and great end-time wealth transfer will then come.
