The former governor of New York resigned today after getting caught in a call-girl scandal that went against his reputation of fighting corruption and reform.

What. A. Fool.
He was spending 13 Grand a year on golden showers when after this a LOT of his constituents would gladly give him one for free. Especially the Wall Street types he shook down with lawsuits as State AG, “enhancing revenue” and building his reputation to get into the Governor’s Mansion.
Wall Street Journal was very full of Schadenfreude at the news of his fall.
And then there is the new Governor, blind and black. (Who headed off any blackmail or scandal by coming up front with his own dirt upon being sworn in.) Afternoon drive-time wags were saying “They always run a minority for Lt Governor — it’s a powerless do-nothing job like Vice President, so they figure it’s safe to elect a minority to show how Ethnically Diverse they are. And this guy was a “two-fer” — Black (TM) and Handicapped (TM). Well, guess what? Now HE’S the new Governor.”
