Peregrinate

As I thought more and more about the Dr. Michael Horton video in my last post where he discusses purposes versus promises, I realized something when he made the statement around 1:03 in the video when he stated:

Purposes arise from within us, promises come down from somewhere else.

I thought about the old Hymn entitled “Standing on The Promises” and it came to me that we need to learn how to stand on these promises from God and where we learn about these promises is when we read the Word of God and then learn to apply the principles of what the Word says in our individual lives.

When we learn to both stand on the promises of God and to apply the principles of the Word, It is at that point where we become consumed with passion to go forth and fulfill the Great Commission per Mark 16:15-20 where it states:

And He (Jesus Christ) said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen

Not only do we see promises, principles, and passion in these verses, we also see two other things in place. We first see precision where the exact instruction of preaching the gospel to every creature that has to be followed and obeyed. However, there is one more important step of action that needs to be done, peregrinate. That’s correct, walk and go into all the world and with precision go out to preach the principles of the Gospel to see the promises in the verses above come forth.

Peregrinate……. It’s time.
