That’s a very good question. When someone has rejected the truth in God’s Word (Jesus is the Logos – the Word), God gives them over to the spirit of error…

1 Kings 22:
19 Then Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by, on His right hand and on His left. 20 And the LORD said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. 21 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ 22 The LORD said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the LORD said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’ 23 Therefore look! The LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the LORD has declared disaster against you.”

2 Chronicles 18:

You cannot cast out the spirit of error because God has sent it as a judgment. That’s why quoting scripture won’t do a thing to convince someone who is defending their false belief system. They have already rejected truth, and so God has given them over to the spirit of error. All you can do is pray for that person.

however, i think the tattoo issue is another matter. i know many believers who have gotten a tattoo here or there…. my understanding was in the OT, the issue was the tattoo was usually marked on the body for a false god… my understanding would be that lev 19:28 does not apply to the NT believer. there is much in the levitical code that no longer applies to the NT believer.

however, a question still arises… why all the tattoos? why all the piercings? your conclusion may very well be correct.

That is the sixty-four thousand dollar question that I have not been able to find out. The worst thing was the last time he was seen before the sabbatical, he was non-pierced and non-tattooed. When he came back, that was when the ’shock’ was revealed via the tattoos and piercings.

doesn’t Jesus have a tattoo in Revelation (19:16 i believe) as well – and doesn’t God write us in the palms of His hands?

I really believe you have ‘revealed’ something in reference to the ’spiritual pedophilia’ aspects of this ‘revival’ and most ‘revivals’ in general. You need to explore this further.
