Has Todd’s Voice Changed?

7 May 2008 6 Comments

When I wrote More and More, I concentrated on the changed in Todd especially the piercings and tattoos….

However, as I re-watched:

The video below from early 2004 at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship:

And the video of Bentley now at the Lakeland meetings:

I noticed something else that appears to have changed….

His voice…

In the Lakeland video, it appears that Todd has started speaking in a southern drawl. I noticed Monday night when he called out for people from Ireland to come forth, he began (subconsciously or not) to start speaking with an Irish accent. Plus, it is starting to sound gravely like many I have met that were heavily involved with the extreme spiritual warfare factions.

We were never intended to be in and out of ‘revival’. Like the church of Acts, we are supposed to have ‘gotten it right the first time’ to go continuously onward never to ‘get dry’, never to ‘backslide’, never to ‘constantly repent over and over again’ for stuff repented numerous times before or invented sins hoping we ‘cracked the spiritual safe of blessings’. We were never intended to have a spiritual roller coaster, but instead we were meant to have a spiritual walk that involves running to finish and win the race.

A level walk, a level head, and no ‘next levels’.
A consistent walk, a consistent relationship, and no ‘inconsistencies’ in translating scripture.

Messiah not Mantra
Holy Spirit not ‘Sikka Bam Bam’

For I am the LORD, I do not change – Malachi 3:6

Is it possible this Todd guy just “lost it” (as in a slo-mo breakdown) between 2004 and now?

And “extreme spiritual warfare faction”, i.e. Witchfinder General and/or White Wizard, is ALWAYS a Big Red Danger Sign. My writing partner told me about someone he knew who went off the deep end into Extreme Spiritual Warfare, to the point that if his kitchen light bulb burned out he’d dig out his Bible and start loudly rebuking The Demon Who Burns Out Light Bulbs instead of replacing the bulb. Poster child for Sagan’s Demon-Haunted World

(Makes you want to steer one of these guys into a REAL Possession/Exorcism situation and watch from a safe distance — Seven Sons of Sceva, anyone?)

Not everybody is perfect and alot of us still fall into temptations again after receiving Jesus into our heart.
I know I have but I kept my relationship with God and i asked for grace when I most certainly dident deserve it. He is teaching me lessons i never would have learned unless i was a believer. So do not put down or condemn or name Todd for what has happened. The only true way to know where is heart is, is between him and God, and weather or not you want to believe what Todd preaches is between you and God also.

Hullo:-) .. i live in New Zealand and have been watching Todd Bentley’s revival in Florida via YouTube the past 3 weeks.. I initially was shocked to see what he looked like, however, I was judging by human standards.. after much consistent research, reading all the gossip and hear-say blogs and forums, checking with scripture whether the outpouring is the Holy Spirit. “in my opinion” i so far, am saying YES it is of God, the True Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit… the more i study and learn about what Todd Believes in.. the more real it is becoming. I have prayed and asked God to affirm the truth but so far no personal answer. Today i listened to Todd Bentley preaching on ” THE SECRET PLACE OF HIS POWER” posted Jan2008. and I think the entire message is correct and true.. no normal Christian has the attitude and approach and thirst for God and Truth as Todd Bentley has expressed in this message. If you have not heard it I challenge you http://www.freshfire.ca/media_centre/mediaPlayer.html

I realise that there are some things that Todd says and does are NOT scriptural, but this should not discourage us from seeking the truth, my motto is “keep the good & discard the evil” .. Todd is a man and has the same temptations and lack of knowledge and error mixed with truths in his life as we ALL do {if any man says he has no sin he is a liar} Yes I know the Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin etc.. and we are saved by Grace alone (sorry not here to preach, so will get back to the topic) I do think God has sent Todd with 1 main purpose and that is to start revival and minister in miracles and healings to bring us Christians back to walking with God.. I personally wouldn’t be to concerned with everything that Todd teaches.. as long as he is acknowledging his power is from Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and God the Father there can be no deception. It is the anti-christ spirit which denies Jesus Christ as Lord and I have not heard Todd deny Jesus – he gives all the glory to Him. It is not our choice on how God uses men to give Him Glory. He can make an animal speak or the stones themselves and that is scriptural. In my opinion using Todd is God’s blessing because many young people would never go near any Pentecostal or Baptist church and proof is thousands are being saved!! they are turning to Jesus and reading His Word, if this was of the devil then he is fighting for the wrong camp – remember Jesus was accused of using demonic power and at the end was crucified.. the same is true today.. they want to crucify Todd.. I say crucify the falseness and keep the truth, it’s not about Todd, but about salvation and healing from God in Jesus Christ and the power of His Holy Spirit – you can reject Todd and his teachings but do not reject God – there is salvation in NO other name except Jesus Christ [now, I am preaching!@!] J and from what I have seen and heard there is much truth in this revival – don’t discard it, be careful and test the spirits, pray about everything and seek God yourself.

God’s will is repentance, but how can one repent if one does not first come to Jesus. Sinners came to Jesus. Jesus always healed first, cast out the demon then told them to sin no more. Salvation is ALL God’s Grace from beginning (calling) to end (receiving Jesus as Lord & Saviour). I am still listening to Todds preaching and am astounded in the depth that God has taken him… so far so good!!.. if someone has never experienced visions, revelations, prophesies, dreamt dreams and felt the presence of God in their lives then they should not judge what Todd is on about, lest they be found to be Judging God Himself – “whoever judges God’s servant judges Him who sent him”. I would advise great caution in what is said about Todd.

I think that many Pentecostal church gatherings are very fleshly, with the band playing and people praying stuff they really have no belief in, just the feel good stuff, no more anointed than a heathen rock concert. However, I do know personally that God can anoint “any” music or words for His Glory and our Salvation. I challenge anyone reading this to listen to Todds preaching, it is very scriptural (or am I reading the wrong bible? – ie. King James)

If you don’t have an open mind to listen to Todd preaching, then try Derek Prince Ministries:> He was used by God to deliver power of healings & miracles.

As for people in Todd’s meetings making noises like animals.. that is usually associated with demonic activity (but a I am no expert), as for people falling over.. I can’t comment although it does appear they usually cry and pray in repentance as God convicts them of sin – again I am no expert, I have never been ‘slain’ in the spirit (as they say) (my hypothesis only). As far as I know the scriptures, when the Holy Spirit descended with power, no one fell over, (correct me if I’m wrong) although I imagine being in God’s presence would easily bring a person to their knees, even as though dead.

As for Angels, I have never heard Todd saying to worship them (as is forbidden in the Bible), however denying seeing them would be fallacy, perhaps Todd should keep his mouth shut and stop throwing pearls before the swine.
