From The Contact Form

I received the following text from a person who filled out my contact form concerning my comments about the Lakeland Revival.

Jeremiah 15:19-21

Therefore thus says the LORD:

“ If you return,
Then I will bring you back;
You shall stand before Me;
If you take out the precious from the vile,
You shall be as My mouth.
Let them return to you,
But you must not return to them.
20 And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall;
And they will fight against you,
But they shall not prevail against you;
For I am with you to save you
And deliver you,” says the LORD.
21 “ I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked,
And I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible.”

This person then proceeded to try to convince me that “if” (keyword as if that is in question) there was some bad in the revival that we are to find the good and separate it and receive the promises of God and throw away the bad.

From what I read of this text and the chapters before and after, this appears to be about judgment and not ‘revival’. It’s very sad to see what people will go to to twist scriptures to try to convince people that what is truly not of God “is God’.

I am finding in the continuing conversation about the Lakeland revival, that at first it was those for and those against. NOW, it has changed and Grady’s recent “Fire in My Bones” article is reflecting that change. Now the conversation is, OK, maybe this revival has a “mixed” spirit. But hey, that’s OK. We will just separate the dross from the gross and still have ourselves a nifty little revival. It will be interesting to me to see if the conversation changes once again, and if so, in what new direction will it flow? IMO the flow so far has been good because now some of its staunchest proponents are changing their tune and admitting there are “problems.” Hopefully, they will keep gong in that direction and either not stop where they are, or even worse, go back to “the whole revival incuidng bently is all God.”
