After hearing news this last weekend that Todd Bentley of the Lakeland Revival fame was going to be ‘commissioned’ by the “Revival Alliance”?, All that I could think about was that this is the attempt to take this ‘revival’ into the ‘mainstream.

The ‘ring’?

Where was Bob Jones, Paul Cain, John Kilpatrick, Steve Hill, and Patricia King?

If I was mistaken, I did not see them in the videos. Was this actually ‘the way’ to ‘shove out’ Bob Jones and Patricia King out of the picture?

What was so important about that night was not that Todd was ‘commissioned’. What was important about that night was that years and years of third wave Christianity became united on one stage to make a shocking declaration (via their actions and not directly spoken) to the church world.

Ladies and Gentlemen… The Christian Civil War Has Began.

I will have to say that no, it is not the fulfillment of the widespread ‘Christian Civil War’ prophecy from the mid 1980′s from Bob Jones and later published in 1996 in Rick Joyner’s magazine that stated:

Like the American Civil War, the coming spiritual civil war will also be between the Blue and the Gray. In dreams and visions blue often represents heavenly mindedness- the sky is blue- and gray speaks of those who live by the power of
their minds- the brain is often called gray matter- this will be a conflict between those who may be genuine Christians, but who live mostly according to their own natural minds and human wisdom, and those who follow the Holy Spirit

The real Christian Civil War that is being fought today is in no way a ‘parallel prophecy’ to the U.S. Civil War that was fought from 1860-1865 that was converted’ to the words Bob Jones spoken over twenty years ago. This is not the Union versus the Confederates in the United States of America. Instead, the real Christian Civil War being fought today has characteristics that are more in line with another civil war that was fought thousands of years ago in the nation of Israel…

Absalom versus David in the nation of Israel…..

Israel is a representation of the church of Jesus Christ, it’s members, and it’s true Godly goals.

Absalom represents the rebellious spirit of a group of people who will covertly plot to murder anyone who gets in their way and also represents someone who did not adhere to discipline from their spiritual fathers and instead decided to leave the father-figure authority in order to devise a scheme to usurp the father-figure authority and rise up in battle in an attempt to ‘kill off’ the ‘old-guard’ to establish their rule and dominion over the church.

David represents the true people of God who have a heart after God who God still loves and is well pleased with. David represents a church who despite it’s many character flaws, still is just and knows the difference between right and wrong and good from evil.

If you look at the history of many of the people associated with the Lakeland revival, you will notice that some of them were either kicked out the Vineyard or left the Vineyard movement over supporting those who were kicked out of the Vineyard. If you research the history of The Kansas City movement and Toronto, you will notice that the Vineyard Church led by John Wimber at the time tried to bring balance and correction into both the Kansas City movement and later on the
Toronto Blessing to the point where both movements ended up disagreeing to the point from schism and separation to where the Vineyard could ‘go on with God’ and Toronto (or Kansas City) could in their viewpoint ‘go on with God’.

What we are now really seeing are two things

(1): The official ceremony of the secession (and the firing of the First shot) of the modern third wavers, N.A.R., Kingdom Now, Dominionists, and prophetic movement from historical true and orthodox Christianity.

(2): The official but covert declaration of war of the modern third wavers, N.A.R., Kingdom Now, Dominionists, and prophetic movement versus the historical orthodox Christian movement in their attempt to usher in a Latter Rain consisting of a dominionist rule by some Manifest Sons of God ‘spiritually killing’ anyone necessary who ‘gets in the way’.

Where Absalom waited two years to enact revenge on Ammon for raping his sister Tamar, we are now seeing a twenty year old waiting period to enact a plan of revenge now being thrust upon the historical Christian church and Vineyard for the
disfellowshipping of Kansas City and Toronto from the Vineyard movement. What we are seeing are people who appear to be ‘good looking’ in the spiritual (but creepy looking in the physical) now coming forth after the men of marketing had the chariots and horses running before them declaring to the church that they were the ‘new anointed ones’ predestined to be the head and ruler of today’s church.

Like the mentality and mindset of Absalom who conspired to commit treason by acting like the leaders, the ‘revival alliance’ and the displaced big names from previous big name revivals have committed the same act of treason of acting as if they are the real leaders of the church.

How?

Like Absalom in 2 Samuel 15: 1-12, they went to the emotional aspect of people promising a form of ‘justice’ via a dominionalist, Kingdom Now, Manifested Sons of God doctrine against not only the social ills of our society such as drugs, porn, abortion, and the democrats, but also their ill-conceived spiritual ill of ‘the man’ who is ‘holding them back’ from their ‘manifested destiny’ of being the ruler of the church on Earth. Their agreers were easily found by aligning themselves with people loyal to Kansas City, Toronto, and Brownsville who had their past memories of ‘conspiracy’, ‘suspicion’, and ‘resentment’ against the ‘leaders’ of the organized church re-triggered when the ‘sight’ of the ‘next major new move of God (Lakeland)’ started to manifest. Absalom did the same thing in 2 Samuel 15 when he asked to go back to Hebron because Hebron was full of people who resented David as King over Israel who were loyal and die-hard supporters of Saul.

However, it appears that the real (but temporary) tragedy of what is happening here is that the true people of God who have a heart after God (who God still loves and is well pleased with) are being further and further pushed to the point of having to flee to the wildernesses and caves in the name of Biblical truth for a season while the new guard of Absalom is preparing to run rampant over the church announcing themselves as the official leaders of the ‘official Church of God’ with C. Peter Wagner at the Protestant Pope.

The good news out of all of the times in the wilderness and caves will be that one day, a true man of God and a Godly people will be so stirred by the presence of God that they will be filled with anointing and boldness to leave the cave and go back into the place of being the church that they once was entrusted by God to be in order to bring Godly justice back to the church and once again bring unity to the brethren. You will not see any currently famous preacher step out and come against this because they too have used the ‘touch not mine anointed’ in their own ministries to the point where this could backfire on them.

At the same time, they will mourn….. Mourn over the lives of those disillusioned and deluded by a dominionalist doctrine that encouraged them to heed the foolish advice of trying to be dominionalists and to also heed the words of one who claims to have experienced a visitation by an angel named ‘Emma’.

Ladies and gentlemen, the true church is headed for a very long and dark night of it’s soul. The Real Christian Civil War has begun on that night of 6-23-08. The secession of a group of believers from ‘the orthodox church with flaws’ who believe that they will be the restorers of perfection and that they have to get certain things done, society cleaned up, and the right people in control or Jesus can’t come back. All done in the name of a New Reformation and a New Protestantism that when analyzed appears to be more like a New Catholicism with a Pope as the head, a ‘Chief’ evangelist, prophet, and spiritual warrior as cardinals and bishops, and priests who lead people into mantric phrases calling them new creeds.

They fired the first shot. They made the declaration of war. They drew an unnecessary line in the sand to set up the sides. They came in like Absalom and divided the kingdom of God and proclaimed themselves up as ‘anointed leaders’ who were not to be ‘touched’. As Absalom’s rebellion over the authority of David sent a nation in uproar, the Revival Alliances rebellion over what happened in Kansas City and Toronto and the stance of authority the Vineyard took has now sent a church in chaos.

If this event is anywhere like the American Civil War that Bob Jones paralleled, it will be only two things:

(1): Christian “Brother” against Christian “Brother”

(2): A quote from the Battle Hymn of the Republic, by Julia Ward Howe:

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.

When researching the meaning of “Grapes of Wrath” and also the influence of the song, I discovered where the “Grapes of Wrath” was actually influenced by Revelation 14:19-20 that states:

So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.

Wrath for anger at the Vineyard Church who tried to discipline you and bring you into a state of orthodoxy even though Kansas City and Toronto thought that their moves of God were going to be the future seeds planted by the Vineyard and the future direction of Vineyard policy.

The term “Grapes of Wrath” was also used as the title of a famous book by John Stein beck whose theme was (according to Wikipedia)

From the terrible winepress of Dust Bowl oppression will come terrible wrath but also the deliverance of workers through their cooperation.

In the third wave and dominionist thought, there are three themes that are always pointed out:

famine, deliverance from oppression, and authority (to oppress others)

Where Christianity is stated to be in a period of being in a dust bowl of famine where God’s people are malnourished due to ‘depression’ and ‘corporate church dictators’ in control. They believe that one day, we are going to leave this ‘dust bowl of famine’ for a ‘new place and a promised land’ where we will experience physical prosperity and ultimately spiritual authority over others.

Like the Tom Joad character in Steinbeck’s novel who saw a leaflet promising a new life in California and left Oklahoma for California and a better life, many Christians have seen the same electronic leaflet via Internet articles promising a ‘new thing ‘ of God in Lakeland and left the “gold dust bowl” that brought spiritual famine and went down to Lakeland hoping for deliverance from ‘oppression’ and a new thing bringing forth health, wealth, prosperity, and dominion. Where Tom Joad, realized along the way from Oklahoma to California that many others were traveling down the same path to California in search of the same better life, many Christians are discovering that they are meeting others with the same vision of healing, prosperity, and a ‘better life’ while desiring to be ‘in control and authority’ over others as part of the dominionist mindset who believe that they will be in dominion over the same people they meet.

When Tom Joad got to California, he became disillusioned at the large amounts of workers, low wages, collusion among the farm owners, and the fact that the possibility that their dominionist mindset, health, wealth, prosperity, and healing may not ever come into fruition. Are there people who leave their hometown for Lakeland that will experience the same possibilities and disillusionment spiritually that Tom Joad experienced physically?

The answer is yes.

Just like the opportunity for Tom Joad turned out not to be real, many will wake up and realize that Lakeland is not the ‘spiritual opportunity’ because of the new ‘oppressive bosses’ of mega prophets who have colluded together believing that they will form, rule over, and reign in triumph in their new reformed places of worship to bring forth a perfect earth in order for God to finally ‘move’ upon using the abundance of Christian workers to fulfill their goal of ‘sowing seed’ and making profits.

Yes, the first shot was fired on that day and isn’t it ironic that both in the fictional life of Tom Joad and in the spiritual life of the ‘revival alliance’, the root point of the battle took place over what was formed out of the state of California (farms in Tom Joad’s life and the Vineyard basing itself out of Anaheim, California).

We saw an accident that left Absalom hanging in a terebinth tree that led to Joab stabbing him to death to end the civil war. What will we see in Lakeland and it’s strange fire to end the Christian civil war and rebellion? A fire to burn up the wrath, a trampling of the winepress that created the drunken stupor, or another dust bowl?
