The Bible says “they shall stone them with stones.”

Last I checked, you had to have two people to constitute “them”.

So, yes, who is Todd’s woman?

I wonder if it is someone as famous as Todd and they are just trying to cover it up. Usually the woman’s name comes out.

Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

Two things here:

(1): The verse they referred to in Leviticus states that both the man and woman shall be stoned to death - where was the man?

(2): The Pharisees, self-appointed as the top-notch religious teachers of the day, didn’t even follow their own law when it came down to the adultery.

Perhaps it was one of them who committed the act? (speculation, not addition to Scripture)

Hey, at least Doris didn’t give the same smart-butt answer Steve Strader did.

I think it is incumbent upon you to go down to Lakeland personally and make an apology on behalf of the mess of a ministry you publicly ordained into office.

It is not the Strang’s responsibility. They only reported on it.
It is not the Strader’s responsibility. They only provided the facilities and the opportunity.

YOU spearheaded Todd’s coronation, treating him as “the next anointed man of God”.
YOU led the service and the prayers.
YOU gave the official Pentecostal / Charismatic stamp to Todd Bentley, and people listen to you.
YOU assembled the alliance who would put Todd forth when he had not been proven to you.

If you were minister enough to anoint and proclaim Todd, you can be man enough to go and make this right. Only then can your credibility and NAR’s credibility be restored to full faith.

Dr. Wagner, be the man you should be.

Go to Lakeland.

Make right what you made wrong.

And this will be good in the sight of the Lord.

I know Wagner was over in Singapore when the story broke and “Doris” was doing all his e-mails and claimed that C. Peter did not do e-mail but had them read/printed out to him and his responses typed and sent by others.

God is the only one that can make this ‘man-made’ rest correct.

There has been much controversy in the Lakeland Revival meetings. My sister who attends The River church in Tampa, has told my mother that she was told at church that the Revivals were false and bad. That people from her church who attended are “messed up” now. I was saddened to hear that. And extremely sad to hear she was told that at church. So I came online to check some things out (being careful because you can find any view you’re looking for on any topic on the web). And I have a few points to make and not directed at anyone specifically.

1. Todd Bentley may not be perfect, but he was willing to be used by God. His heart was good.

2. God moved.

3. People were healed and set on fire spiritually.

4. Revival spread to many areas as a result.

Now I know there were some negative issues that came out toward the end. Maybe the Revivals went on too long and self became a focus. I don’t know. But one thing I do know, no matter what, satan will bring out any nastiness he can. He’ll creep in through any open door, any weakness, and use any person and situation to discredit what God has done. And he’ll even use unguarded Christians to spread the gossip amongst the church.

Were the Revivals God ordained? I believe Yes!

Was there fruit? Yes

Peoples lives were changed.

The enemy hated that!

There was weakness on Todd’s behalf and a failure for those overseeing the Revival after so much time had passed. I’m sure they were tired and maybe got too lax and unfocussed. Maybe they were so hungry to see God move that they got carried away. It happens, shouldn’t, but does sometimes. They are human beings, born in a sinful world, who are responsible individually to put off the old self and turn from evil, keeping themselves holy & acceptable to God, and walking in Him. They have to answer for what they do. Just like you and me.

** I choose to focus on what God did do!

** I choose to not allow satan to you my lips and fingers to type the negative and discredit what God did.

** I choose to be thankful for what did happen in the lives of those who attended.

The Word says to touch not God’s anointed. People are getting into a sticky area.

Did Todd Bentley sin? probably yes. But if he repents, all is forgiven. Has every pastor, minister, prophet, priest, etc. on the face of this planet sinned? Yes!! But, the key is where they go from there and if they repented and got it right.

And who are we to be fault-finders pointing fingers? No one was called to the office of fault-finding, or to the office of Exposer. The Bible says love covers a multitude of sin. It doesn’t expose.

Now they do have a responsibility to make things right, especially if it effects others. They are accountable themselves. I believe they should make an effort to make it right, but it’s between them and God as to how to do it. My attitude about it and forgiveness isn’t contingent on whether they do or not. I am simply commanded to love and to forgive. And we need to do that by forgiving and moving forward. I am only responsible for what I do.

And I pray the gossip STOPS!

I’m not a Rodney Howard Browne fan, but he was right in his assessment.

This isn’t gossip. It is the truth. The sins have been confessed and according to C. Peter Wagner, there is more, but they want to deny it all and say let us go to Lakeland 2.0….

It’s doomed to fail also.

LAURA: All the “gossip”, as you refer to it, would cease is all the liar and deceivers involved in this would TELL the “TRUTH”!!! Pure and simple Laura. By what I read in your post we could label Jesus a gossiper - NO He just wanted TRUTH exposed!!! It seems these deceivers DO NOT. They could at least begin with “coming clean” on Todd’s other woman for a start.

They have caused great damage to the cause of the gospel and will have to answer for it. I am glad I am not in their shoes!!!

BTW Do not “touch” God’s anointed is an oft misused phrase in the christian community - nowhere in scripture does it apply to someone saying something that is true about pastors. Touch means cause “physical” harm!!! A study of the scriptures easily proves this.

It does not refer to saying something about a pastor or anyone else for that matter, which is the truth. “Touch” in this instance refers to cause physical harm. A simple scripture study will reveal this to be the case. Ie in the case of David and Saul. Samuel the prophet spoke out openly or “touched -(as in the christian use of touch) the anointed one of God by criticizing the King’s disobedience. So there is NOTHING wrong with telling the truth about someone even if it be a pastor, evangelist, prophet or teacher!!!

everyone is forgetting the bible is full of flawed characters who did mighty exploits for God and sin terribly in the eyes of the Lord, so let it go…we are all capable of moving in the spirit of God and then falling into sin the next, heck i do it all the time….its no slight on God, just shows all the more why and how much we need a saviour…der everyone wake up!
