Another day…..

Another round of spam e-mails (I never requested them and they did not come from friends nor were they received through my contact form, therefore it is unsolicited spam to me) of ‘Official Christian Alerts’ telling me if you vote for Obama, we will get ‘four years of gloom and doom’, the ‘big black cloud’ over this nation, the ‘judgment and wrath is on this nation…’ etc. while voting for McCain will allow the Republican, home-school, anti-marriage-penalty-tax, school voucher, butterfly kissing feminized evangelical Jesus to be sovereign for four more years, we escape gloom and doom for four more years, we will end abortion and overturn Roe Vs Wade, and use the Supreme Court to ban the lottery.

It’s been eight years…. Abortion is still legal…. The lotto still exists….. Crime has increased and our prisions are overflowing….. And jobs are still going overseas….

And in my home state, we have two ‘christian’ ladies running for the U.S. Senate that are now questioning whether their opponent possesses ‘real Christianity’ or not

And you are expected to be a card carrying member of “Screwed For Jesus” (no dot com nor dot O-R-G site I know about)

Another set of phone calls from candidates of both parties that have the gall and bravado to tell us to vote for them but are too coward to identify themselves on the caller id screen of the telephone. One candidate did identify by telephone number only but with a 555 number within the range allocated for “fictional use”.

Frankly, I’ve had enough… I want to watch the NBA and NFL on television but do not want to get blitzed by all these political ads during the game breaks. Gee those Toyota ’saved by zero’ commercials are already annoying enough and now more annoying political ads…?

All of this made me think about a certain section of lyrics from the song ‘Destroyer’ by the Kinks:

Paranoia, anxiety, and hysteria has long been associated inside of the pentecostal / charismatic mindset. I even documented alot of what I saw in the Penteparanoia series of blog posts that I wrote over a period of time. This paranoia, anxiety, and hysteria; combined with a dominionalist mentality that also runs prevalent within the pentecostal / charismatic mindset is the spark that does ignite the fuse of self-destruction.

Between the “red’ under the bed that referrers to a Communist and the ‘little green man’ in my head that referrers to ‘voices’, the pentecostal / charismatic mindset has actually ‘aided and abetted’ with the same force that they claim that by exposing the “red’ under the bed (called Satan) and exposing the ‘little green man’ in my head (called demons) they eliminate….

The force of Fear

It goes against this famous verse of 2 Timothy 1:7:

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

It’s fear that creates an environment of paranoia, hysteria, and anxiety. It’s fear that causes us to overreact and prepare for a defense against either something that will never happen or something that is inevitable to happen because the Scriptures foretold of it thousands of years ago. It’s fear that helps generate a reality of bad decisions in the present against a theoretical bad reality projected to take place the future.

Fear of Change generates a fear that changes our outlook on life.

You can’t fight evil with evil!!!

You fight evil with the power and authority given to us in Jesus Christ!!! You fight paranoia, hysteria, and anxiety by refusing to succumb to it.

Does anyone remember that cheezy television commercial that aired after 9-11-01?
where all these people stated such things (or very similar) as…

I will go to a baseball game
I will go on a camping trip
I will enjoy a good movie
I will take my kids to the park

It was designed to ‘eliminate fear’ and also to re-ignite a stagnated economy. I find it both ironic and hypocritical how the ‘party’ that tried to eliminate fear after 9-11 is now instilling fear into the hearts of the people of what may possibly happen if we do not elect ‘the candidate from Arizona’. I also find it both ironic and hypocritical how the Christians who are supposed to demonstrate the “power and of love and of a sound mind” are now the main propagators of fear mongering.

Based on the logic that equated fear mongering to terrorism and deemed terrorists as fear mongers, can I ask this brash question????

Who is the worst ‘terrorist’ right now? The terrorists of 9-11-01 that used brute force to bring us into a state of fear, anxiety, and hysteria or is it the American Religious Right that appear to use ‘half-truths’ (still a lie on a grade school true/false test) and manipulation to imagine us into a state of fear if God’s Official Party loses the election? (referencing a letter in this blog post)

Christians, I have stated in many previous posts before that no matter who get’s elected, we still have to be Christians. No matter what happens, you better start storing up the Word of God in your heart and guard it accordingly. Between the agenda groups that either want to eliminate the Bible or try to rewrite the Bible, we better know what the Word really says. The persecution may not come from the gays or the ACLU. It may come from people who got tired of pastors being politicians when the Great Commission was traded for The Not So Great Politician.

Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of soup. The religious right sold out the real and priceless power of God to a ‘political prostitute’ for a ‘quick cheap trick’ of righteous legislation that aroused us into a ‘excited’ state that (1): did not last long before the ‘political prostitute’ went to the next customer. (2): gave us a ‘diseased’ Christianity in the process that is very hard to treat and cure and (3): conceived an ‘illegitimate child’ that has grown up to be untamed, undisciplined, and out of control propagating a non-legitimate form of Christianity because their ’sperm-donor father’ (the religious right) will not take responsibility for the wayward child it created while at the same time not knowing who the ‘True Father in heaven and earth’ really is (his name is God the Father).

And we thought all our ‘warfare prayers’ prayed in the midst of this act was the ‘protection’…….

It even affected how we interpreted what the Bible calls ‘good’ and what the Bible calls ‘evil’. The ‘political prostitute’ that was once found in the red light district located in the ‘red state’ is now known as the ‘evangelical escort’ who goes to our churches unchallenged to repent and turn away from their sin because the church loves the offering plate potential and clamors for the sphere of influence and affluence of powerful people the evangelical escort has had ‘relations’ with to ‘change things’ instead of applying the Bible to their life in order to change their own hearts. We changed the name from prostitute to escort in a ’spiritually-correct’ sort of way thinking we masked the sin but the same diseases and potential for another illegitimate child/movement being birthed is still present that will turn people away from Jesus instead of bringing them to Jesus.

I may be doing the ‘Skip Church Sundays’ on November 2 and 9, 2008, but I adamantly refuse to “Skip Life” these next two weeks and be another Chicken Little proclaiming that the sky is falling trying to enlist people to fight a Don Quixote war. I will continue to put my trust in God, not a politician. I refuse to believe in Christianized Conspiracy theories of reds under the bed, satans behind every tree, green men telepathically telling us what to do, nor demons under every rock.

I will live my life to the fullest in Christ! Do the same
