“You” people have missions but ‘we’ go to the voodoo tribes and see them all saved and delivered from witchcraft.

More like replacing their traditional tribal witchcraft with Pentecostal Elijah's List Name-it-and-Claim-it hexes-on-all-who-touch-God's-Anointed ronda-konda-shonda witchcraft...

Seriously, Internet Monk has stated several times (without going into detail) how American-style megachurch Christianity (and over-the-top Pentecostalism) is gaining in the Third World and doing damage there.

Well, as someone who grew up in liberal Protestantism, I have to say that there was (and still basically is) a huge difference between the Baptists and the liberal Protestants of your childhood. One preached the gospel (well, most Baptist churches did) and the other did not. However, as far as the social gospel goes, perhaps today we can actually get these two together without compromising the gospel. The two I am referring to is the gospel of substitutionary atonement preached with clarity plus helping others with material needs and bringing social justice to groups.

But following seeker-sensitive and/or emergent is definitely not the way to go. So what is the way to go? Think Tim Keller with the healthy parts of Pentecostalism thrown in.
