I was sent an e-mail from a friend of mine with these YouTube videos of John MacArthur on TBN

From what very little TBN I have watched over the past five years, I have heard more pure Gospel in these two clips than the sermons, faith made formulas, and spirituality made superstitions normally preached by the TBN ‘prosperity pimps’ and semi-annual “pRAISE-A-ThON’s fund-raising tactics combined.

The real miracle here is that somehow, this show got broadcasted on TBN’s own airwaves instead of being pulled and replaced by some cheezy apocalyptic third rate rapture movie. MacArthur somehow goes from being the cold, emotionless, crass and calloused human being (that he normally comes across as) to being the bringer of light and truth into the hallowed halls of fear, lies, and heresy.

However, I really wonder if the miracle ever made it from the spoken audio to the hearts of the people in the audience that night and who watched via television or YouTube. The typical TBN audience is usually made up of a combination of an up-and-coming future televangelist’s posse and fan club and people who are ‘yes’ people saying ‘yes’ to anything that sounds spiritual and not fully digesting and analyzing what is being said. I wondered what happened the following couple of days when the prosperity televangelist was on TBN and the same audience members showed up. Did they clap heavily at the prosperity televangelist and say ‘yes’ exactly as they did when MacArthur spoke knowing that both men would definitely contradict each other? Was there a definite change or was it lip service?
