That reminds me of the Court of Louis XIV, when the high nobles of France would be summoned to Court at Versailles for such important duties as handing the Sun King his socks in the morning. Basically the King just rubbing it in that he was The Boss and they were only his flunkies.

It’s the ‘king’s kids’ mentality taken way too far. What was so bizarre about it all was the fact that it was proclaimed from the pulpit that
