In the 1990′s, the famous WWE wrestler The Rock used to say this now famous catch phrase….
KNOW YOUR ROLE… AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
In those same 1990′s, a Democrat (aka DEMONcrat to the religious right) by the name of Bill Clinton was the President of the United States.
I remember back then when you listened to Christian radio and watched certain Christian television shows, there was eight years of constant backbiting and condescending tones of negativity in the midst of the “Positivianity Gospel” (don’t say anything ‘negative’ about the church). Politics were being covertly sneaked into the agendas of Christian media by a certain select few self-appointed ‘leaders’ who seemed to have mistaken the providence and sovereignty of “The Rock of Jesus Christ” for the cocky and arrogant attitude of the WWE Wrestler “The Rock”.
Instead of the catchphrase made popular by the WWE Wrestler “The Rock”, the American Religious Right movement in a sense altered that catchphrase from the few self-appointed leaders down to the many in the pews that read…
KNOW YOUR ROLE, READ OUR SCRIPT, PLAY THE PART, AND YELL OUT OF YOU MOUTH!
Do not think for yourselves, the thinking has been done for you, the two-bit character role-playing actor (who instead does caricatures). We have an “Official Christian Perspective” for everything from how to vote, why Sponge Bob will send you to Hell, and to how to put your legs through your pants.
Build your home bunker in your Thomas Kinkade fantasy world, wear your tin hats in the Spirit, and splatter your minivan with home school bus bumper stickers and stop abortion now bumper stickers while hawking MLM products that don’t work, talking on the cell phone, putting on makeup, and the kids are jumping around in the back seat that would be instantly killed if you did wreck the minivan.
Do not listen to the secular liberal news media but instead get your ‘information and analysis features’ from the equally biased but opposite extreme Godly news source.
Do not go away from the direction of ‘The Script’. This is what we need publicized and our lawyers claim that you can say this on Sunday mornings to circumvent and loophole (a forming of willing disobedience trying to justify as ‘right’) the 501c3 laws.
May your women become evangelical Stepford wives and may your men become feminized men who sound like panzies who butterfly kiss their Precious Moments figurine looking daughters.
In other words, Be our two dimensional, mass-produced Christian widget clone because you are not an individual, you’re an agenda army robot.

And the UN didn’t take over, the black helicopter did not hover over our house, Y2K scares never happened and our bank accounts were untouched, and the gays did not take over America to eventually cause 9-11-01 to happen….

Then we had an eight year break from all of this “Conspiracianity” and “Holy Hysteria”
The original named enemy of 9-11-01 has not been found, we failed to respond ahead of time to Hurricane Katrina, abortion can still be performed, and the theonomy / Christian Reconstructionism philosophies of R. J. Rushdoony did not come into fruition and the ‘holy kings kids / Joshua Generation’ conceived twenty years ago in the name of the religious right population plan (because liberals either do not have kids or abort theirs) to outvote the DEMONcrats……

The eight year break was over and what began to happen…
The Christian (or is it “Official Christian”) History started once again to repeat itself.
The holy hysteria, the ‘family alerts’, the condescending tone of Christian media, the Conspiracianity, the loopholing of 501c3 laws to talk politics in the name of talking Bible [but telling you via their sermons to contact your Congressmen and let them know what "you" (actually "the religious right') think], the re-feminization of Christian man, the talk of Christian Reconstructionism, and New Apostolic Reformation Dominionalism, the resurgence of 1 Chronicles 7:14 rallies, mega fasts, and repent-a-thons.
The American Religious Right is handing us another revised script for us to know our role, play our part, and yell out of our mouths. The script of God’s “Official Christian Opinion” (actually the opinions expressed by the scriptwriters) and why we need to call our congressmen and the United Nations to “stop the insanity”.
However, like last time….
I refuse to know ‘the role’. I refuse to “play the part’. I refuse to yell/blabber like a condescendent know it all. I refuse to be the Christian clone rank private of the Apostolic Agenda Army
I don’t want to read ‘the script’. I want to read “The Standard” (the Bible). Not the hyper-Charismatic concept of ‘raising a standard’.
The Holy Bible, where 1 Corinthians 10:1-13 tells us that the Old Testament was written examples and an admonition. Not a ‘replacement theology’ of the Church being Israel and the “Charismatic Replacement Theology” of replacing your name with a Bible character and demanding the same exact outcome.
It was never about “the script”. It was always about the Bible.
It was never about “knowing my role”. It was about fulfilling my calling.
It was never about yelling/blabbering. It was about Mark 16:15-18 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature….
It was never about following the script without deviance. It was always about Acts 17:11 and being Berean and search the Scriptures.
It should have been always first and foremost about The Bible, the book that has a section called Acts that documented the perfect model of the early church that was persecuted by an objecting government that somehow became the most powerful version of church ever seen on Earth… more powerful than the evangelicals, revival junkies, pentecostals, Methodists, reformed, etc. that came hundreds / thousands of years after them.
These guys lost their lives, gotten flogged, and went to jail while we call the election of a DEMONcrat persecution singing ‘pledge allegiance to the Lamb’ while the singer of that song years later decided to shun the commandments of God and pledge his allegiance to the lambda instead.
The tragic thing is that in the history of Holy Hysterias that the church ever got its panties tied up in a wad over, less than one percent of them ever came to pass. Not because someone fasted ‘hard enough’ to stop it, but because God’s sovereignty and providence reigned supreme even in the midst of chaos. The script is not the sixth sola of “Sola Americana” where “by American religious right Christianity only can the world be pure and holy enough for God to come back once again and ‘do His stuff’ he was known for”. Instead, the script is really a dream to ‘restore’ America back to a “time of innocence” they thought was ‘pure’ while another ‘remnant’ of Christians who lived in the “time of innocence” was denouncing that time as ‘downgrade’ and trying to ‘restore’ America back 50 years earlier to their definition of “time of innocence”.
You would have thought that we would have seen the dysfunctional signs and patterns and broke the vicious cycle by now…. OH NO!
If the script was not bad enough to follow, think about the ‘holy hexes’ that the ‘scriptwriters’ claim happens to those who refuse to read the script, know their role, and play the game. What about their threats of:
These people no longer believe the Bible is infallible
These people will eventually become gay
These people will promote euthanasia.
These people will become impoverished and unable to hold steady and gainful employment
These people will start reading the secular liberal news media.
These people will fall into new age doctrines and start going to public school and become atheist professors to further pollute the university system…
Unfortunately, many of the famous Christians who gave up the script ended up with one or more of these traits because they never migrated fully over to the Scriptures and placed them into practice. Not because they didn’t follow the script.
Doesn’t this seem like the same types of threats pentecostals used to tell people who left them for other denominations
Your daughter will be a crack house whore. Your son will go to prison. Your marriage will end. You will lose your job. You will miss the rapture…
If any of these future Holy Hysterias do happen, it does not excuse us from no longer being Christian. It does not excuse a pastor from preaching against homosexuality. It does not excuse us from obeying the Scriptures and Great Commission. If the Acts church can do it, we can too.
What it means is that we better start right now getting more and more Scriptures written down in our hearts and memory and start practicing them now. The perilous times will come…. Because the Scriptures stated it would and not because someone didn’t follow the script carefully and did not pray hard enough.
